98 YEARS

I've seen alot of things in my life. Alot good, alot bad and some inbetween, but I've never seen anything like Mr. Lima-Marin's plight. His story is so one of a kind. As a young man, Mr. Lima-Marin made some bad decisions. As we all did in our younger days. Mr. Lima-Marin went on to pay his debut to society for those decisions but upon facing the wrath of the State Of Colorado, was unjustly given a sentence that would never allow him a chance at life again until he was in his 70s! The court pretty much ruled that Mr. Lima-Marin's life was not worth vaule in the society that we live in. At the age of 19, Mr. Lima-Marin was given a 98 Year Department of Corrections Prison sentence. As we know, the adult male brain does not fully develop till atleast 25 years of age!

So here Mr. Lima-Marin is to do the rest of his life, in a cold callous environment that we foster called "Prison" for a adolescent decision, never allowed the chance to right his wrongs... but what does Mr. Lima-Marin do when he recieves that sentence and is bused away to a correctional facility with no chance really to ever go home? Mr. Lima-Marin looks in the mirrior, prays and embraks on with his own free will, to become a better man! Do you know how hard it is to challenge the status quo in prison? First allow me to define for you what the status quo in prison is... its anything and everything that has to do with personal self-gain. It's often refered to as a Convict Mentality, it's a vibrantion of the lowest frequency that man can vibe on. Mr. Lima-Marin was able to change himself in the midst of all that Chaos, walk on that road that is less traveled and continue to desire a better way and life for himself all on his OWN WILL! Of course, Mr. Lima-Marin as us believers know, answered the call that god put upon his life to be the man he was always truly meant to be, but none the less, Mr. Lima-Marin answered that call and pressed forward of his own free will!

Eight years would go by that Mr. Lima-Marin would constantly work on himself and learn all that he could. Through out all of Mr. Lima-Marin's incarceration not once did he recieve a write-up for any sort of infranction, not even one!

2008, an error on the court clerk would end up allowing Mr. Lima-Marin to be paroled. What should Mr. Lima-Marin have done? Should he have told his unjust captors "Hey, I was unfairly sentenced to serve out the rest of my life watching TV and playing dominos!" Of course not! Mr. Lima-Marin went on re-build his life, A New Life with God's Favor.

At the age of 35, Mr Lima-Marin started all over again. Starting out making ends meet by selling coupon books! For five spotless years, Mr. Lima-Marin completed parole successfully, landed a union-job and reconnected and married the love of his life, nurtured two children and bought a house, all in the same community that he commited his crimes as an adolescent.

These paragraphs of Mr. Lima-Marin successful completion of parole & creation of a new life with his family are so short & so quickly read, I just want the readers of this to sit and think for a moment.. FIVE YEARS! How many things could have happened in five years? How many options did Mr. Lima-Marin have in those five years to revert back to any previous ways of life or thinking? Ways that he did not! Ways that he put way behind him and made advancements with a New Heart and New Mind! Five year this man successfully became a law abiding citizen.

2014, Evan Ebel, a White Surpremacist, released four years early due to a clerical error as well subsequently murdered a pizza delivery man and then, wearing the man’s uniform, went to the home of Colorado prison chief Tom Clements and killed him as well. He later died in a shootout with Texas authorities. This inturn sparks a look into all offender's Time Comp records.

Upon this review, the error in Mr. Lima-Marin's release was found and his former prosecutor, now a Judge, drafted a motion to correct the clerical error and put Lima-Marin back in prison. Lima-Marin was picked up at his home just before 11 p.m. that same day and taken into custody. A family was ripped a part by doing so. The two young sons that Mr. Lima-Marin were left without a father to guide and direct them through childhood and help them learn the correct understandings to become great men of the world. A Wife was left to bare the burden of all the bills and responsibiliies of the family... but the State of Colorado didn't see that, even though Mr. Lima-Marin's prosecutor briefly acknowledged the hardship on his family, he contended that the defendant had no business getting married and starting a family when he knew that discovery of the mistake could send him back to prison.

The State would rather Mr. Lima-Marin be a Taxpayer's Liability rather than a productive member of Society. They would rather keep in motion what already is evident in today's world which is the seperation of Family. What benefit does The Department of Corrections or Society reap by housing Mr. Lima-Marin again? He's obviously proved that he's not the young man anymore that committed those crimes but rather he is a devoted Father, Son and Husband.

The State of Colorado upheld that Mr. Lima-Marin should serve out the rest of his 98 Year sentence in The Department of Corrections, where he now sits this vary day. Allowed to see his family only on weekends at an expensive cost to his loved ones. Note he housed 153 miles from his Wife & Children. Allowed 20 Minutes to talk to his Wife and Children at price that is depedent upon his Wife to pay.

Is this truly justice?

How much debut has to be paid before one is truly recognized for the good rather than the bad?

We are petitioning The Governer of Colorado to release Mr. Lima-Marin and allow him to be back with his family so that he may be The Father and Husband to his family that he is meant to be.
