ABOUT

A Native of Denver, CO. T.J., 33, started his evolution from an adsolence  enrapturred in gangsta-ism to fully devolped grown man in 2003 after recieving a 22 Year Sentence for Attempted Murder. After serving 11 years in the cold confinements of Colorado's Department of Corrections, T.J. was released and rebirthed from the concrete womb on September 23rd, 2014, As a New Man with Greater Understandings & a refined mind geared toward betterment. T.J. is a Graduate of the Institue of Advanced Study, Graduating Cum Laude where a Cap & Gown can't be bought. A Natural social scientist with a keen eye for comprehending the What's & Why's of life, T.J. has dedicated his life to the enlightment of today's youths who are unconsciously in prison to worldy ideals and pre-made roles handed down by generations long past. As one who has lived the life that seems to be so glamorized in today's music & movies, T.J., takes the veil off for his readers. T.J. then gives them truths to ponder that tend to be confrontational to those trapped in the cycle of self-destruction. T.J's mission is to inspire men, both young & old, to make better decisions by a process of a self-examination. With introspection cultivated by discussions in the socractic method of question & answer, a method that allows all facts to be presented so that the truth can be found and polished. T.J. started writing essay's in a 10x20 cage at a young age as a way to pass time and escape the insanity and misery that sat on the other side of his metal sliding cell door. T.J. now has clarity that he hopes will be a bridge that will allow others to pass over from their childish ways into dignified acts. The Man Up Movement was started in 2013to do all the above. The Man Up Movement is a Call to Duty for all Men. A Call to Duty to Better and Be Better, In all that one does.

T.J.

Born in Arkansas. Raised in Denver Colorado. Married to a beautiful wife. I currently travel for work doing inspections in nuclear plants around the nation. Avid reader and writer, lover of music among many other things. Served five years on an eight year sentence for robbery in the Colorado Department of Corrections. Struggled with alcohol and drugs throughout my teens to my late twenties now I try to spend my free time writing inspirational and life based essays. I believe it's a man’s duty to take what he has learned throughout his travels and share that with others with the hopes of casting light on certain struggles and how through experience with said struggles to help others who have walked or are currently walking the same path.
